Visitors, residents invited to immerse in Charlotte Museum’s Asian American Pacific Islander exhibit

By Susan Palmes-Dennis For anyone staying or visiting in Charlotte, North Carolina please do visit the ongoing  Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) exhibit at the Charlotte Museam of History. Dr. Nini Bautista de Garcia, chairman of the Asian American Foundation for the Carolinas (AAPI Exhibit Team) said the exhibit’s second cycle started last June 12 an will last until the end of June.  Showcased in the exhibit are 23 cultures, traditions and heritage of Asian American Pacific Islander countries as seen through pictures and stories outlined in their respective story boards, traditional costumes and artifacts.    The exhibit opened last May 18 in time for the celebration of Asian American Heritage Month.  Photo by Doreen Reynolds For Filipino-American Doreen Reynolds, it’s never too late to learn and appreciate the cultures of neighbors in Asia.  Reynolds graced the May 18 opening and went again a week ago. FACC taps sponsors, volunteers to host successful Leyte Dance Theater group performance
